Mower - Syracuse Office

When a company is known for creating world-class advertising and public relations campaigns, its offices should reflect the same level of innovation and excellence. In 2009, Eric Mower and Associates (EMA), a prominent firm with 250 employees across eight cities, sought out ZFS&A to help envision a modern, collaborative space for their Syracuse headquarters.

From the start, ZFS&A guided EMA through evaluating four unique locations, each offering different possibilities for creating an inspiring, functional workspace. EMA’s vision was clear: they wanted to transition from a traditional office setup to an open, collaborative floor plan that fosters creativity and communication. The selected Jefferson Clinton Commons Building provided the ideal space to bring this vision to life, allowing all 125 staff members to work on a single, 30,600-square-foot floor.

The design replaced enclosed offices with low, glass-walled workspaces and sliding doors, creating a visually open yet private environment for partners and staff. The contemporary, open landscape design promotes collaboration and flexibility, with new additions like a theater, training room, and café. These spaces, cleverly connected by two glass garage doors, can open up into one large area for company-wide gatherings and events.

Located near the vibrant Armory Square in Downtown Syracuse, EMA’s new headquarters stands as a reflection of their forward-thinking approach and commitment to excellence. Completed in December 2009, this headquarters is more than an office—it’s a space where innovation and collaboration thrive.
